Auditors will be punished by a higher fine.
Council on Auditing under the Russian Ministry of Finance will consider amendments to the law "On Auditing" and the Code of Administrative Offences.
One of the main amendments is to increase the penalty for violation of professional ethics, which can be up to 700 thousand rubles. Determination of guilt now is not responsibility of court, but self-regulatory organizations (SROs). The relevant amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences (CAO) have developed the largest accounting firms in Russia. Small market players assume that the amendments are aimed at them.
